There are quite a few foundations I’ve wanted to try recently and because I’m far too impatient to wait until the weekend to go shopping I decided to buy them online, which is always risky. After searching I came across matchmymakeup.com, this website is brilliant. I’m not sure if it has every single foundation however there a lot to choose from! Also if you can’t find the colour match you require you have the option to send in a sample of your foundation and they’ll match it for you. I would definitely recommend to anyone buying foundation without testing first because it was 100% accurate for me. I have always used Esteé Lauder Double Wear but wanted to change recently for a few reasons.
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation:04 – £37
I’ve heard a lots of good things about this foundation, and when you hear that Kim K uses this you definitely want to try it. The colour match to my skin is perfect. It’s slightly similar to Esteé Lauder Double Wear in the way that you can’t really build it up and you especially can’t apply any after powder as it pulls itself off, however it isn’t quite as heavy.
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Foundation: BD25 – £32.50
While the site had advised that BD20 would be my match I had been to the YSL counter and had been matched to BD25, and so I decided to buy the BD25 however I think it is a little too dark for me and looks a little orange. I’ll probably try the BD20 next time. Although I really like how this foundation goes on and how it can be built up, due to my skins current condition (a face full of spots) it’s not the best for me at the moment along with shade being a slight issue.
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation: Mont Blanc – £31
When I first took this foundation from the packaging I thought it looked far too pale, especially compared to the other two foundations I had just received. After trying it on I found that it matches my skin colour perfectly, although I might try the next colour up next time just for comparison and maybe to use through summer and when I use fake tan. This is my favourite of the three.
I bought the foundation pump to use with this as it doesn’t come with one and I prefer to dispense the foundation this way, it seems more hygienic and makes it easier to handle the amount I’m using.
Just before buying these foundations my skin decided to massively break out, up to now I’ve had pretty good skin with just having the odd spot now and then. So good coverage has been of major importance for me. Watch out for a review of these products & a few drugstore foundations soon…
