Spring Makeup

My favourite thing about living in England is the alternate seasons that we enjoy. I love each season, as we come to the end of one I can’t wait for the next. And as the seasons change so does my makeup routine, usually consisting of lighter shades of lipstick with lots more nudes and pale pinks.

As the months become warmer I tend to wear lighter makeup, partly in the hope the sun may hopefully tan my pale skin but also because I prefer a more natural look and I avoid thick heavy makeup, I prefer my skin to feel as though it can breathe.

Currently, I’m loving YSL Rouge Volupté Shine in shade ‘Coral Intuitive’. It’s so hydrating so you don’t have to worry about dry lips plus it’s really light so feels like you are barely wearing anything. The shade I purchased is the perfect Spring colour, being light and dainty. I bought this lipstick last summer and I’ve been planning on creating a collection of these ever since, I’ve especially had my eye on the shade ‘Nude Lavalliere’. Aside from the beautiful Instagram-worthy packaging, and how I love having this displayed in my makeup storage they carry a soft scent of watermelon, the coral does anyway. I’d like to see if the other shades do too.

My eyeshadow is usually minimal, especially during the day, and my Naked3 palette is perfect for creating this bright daytime look. It’s such a girly but versatile palette, creating so many different looks however I do feel as though it’s best suited to Spring as all of the shades have a rosy tint which I really love about it. During the day I tend to use the shades ‘Strange’, ‘Limit’ and ‘Nooner’ using the lightest shades on the inside corner of my eyelid and working them out darker as I go along. However, sometimes I wear the darker shades in the palette, very lightly during the day.

Benefit Roller Lash is my go-to mascara, I haven’t tried another mascara yet that has been able to curl my beeline lashes the same. Lately, I’ve been applying fewer layers for a more natural look.

For foundation; most often I wear Estée Lauder Double Wear, however, I will sometimes, usually when the weather is warmer (and my skin is having a good day) wear Giorgio Armani. When I need more coverage, I prefer to use double wear. I can achieve a similar coverage with Giorgio Armani and quite a bit of concealer but this usually takes a little more effort.

As always I like to use Maybellines eraser eye concealer for that brightening look, there is such a difference when I apply this. To continue with a bright and fresh look I add Urban Decay ‘Sin’ highlight, it took a while for me to manage to buy this as it was out of stock in the UK for so long and I’m so glad I waited. A tiny dusting on the inner corner of my eye makes creates an overall bright-eyed fresh look.

Which are your favourite Spring beauty products?
